Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about mobile spray tanning, preparation, and aftercare.

Preparation: Before Your Tan

Definitely get your mani/pedi done *before* your spray tan appointment (ideally 24 hours prior).

Make sure all oils and lotions are thoroughly removed from your skin afterwards. If you must get a mani/pedi after your tan, wait until after your first shower and skip any scrubs or massage portions, as the products can affect your tan.

It’s highly recommended to schedule all facial and massage services *before* your tan.

The oils and lotions used during these treatments can create a barrier or strip your tan.

For best results for a special event, book your tan 1-2 days prior. This allows the tan to fully develop and settle.

Arrive at your appointment with clean, dry skin. Do not apply any lotions, oils, makeup, deodorant, or perfume beforehand, as these can create a barrier and lead to an uneven tan.

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! Most clients opt for minimal clothing (like old underwear or swimsuit bottoms) or go nude to avoid tan lines. Disposable thongs and pasties are available upon request.

Aftercare: Maintaining Your Glo

Immediately after your tan, wear loose-fitting, dark clothing and avoid tight shoes or jewelry. This prevents rubbing or smudging while the tan develops. Any cosmetic bronzer that transfers typically washes out of most fabrics.

This depends on the type of tan you received:

- **Classic Tan:** Wait at least 8-10 hours before your first rinse.

- **Rapid Tan:** Rinse off in 2-5 hours, as advised by Meghan based on your desired color depth. Your first rinse should be quick, using only lukewarm water (no soap), just to remove the cosmetic bronzer. Pat your skin dry gently.

Avoid sweating and strenuous activity until after your first shower (see above). Once you've had your initial rinse, you can resume your normal workout routine.

With proper aftercare, your spray tan should last about 7-10 days. Longevity depends on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you moisturize.

Chlorinated pools and hot tubs are the main culprits. Also avoid long hot baths/showers, excessive sweating, exfoliating scrubs/tools, waxing, shaving (use a sharp razor and light pressure if you must), and products containing oils, alcohol, sulfates, or harsh chemicals (like Dove soap, certain acne treatments, or anti-aging products).

Staying hydrated and moisturizing daily with a tan-safe lotion are key to extending your tan's life.

When your tan is fading and you're ready for a fresh start, gently exfoliate your skin using an exfoliating mitt. You can also create a paste of baking soda, water, and a little lemon juice, apply it to your skin for a few minutes, and then gently scrub and rinse.

General Questions

The active ingredient (DHA) is FDA-approved for external application and generally considered safe as it only penetrates the outermost skin layers. However, we always recommend consulting your doctor first. For breastfeeding mothers, we can provide nipple covers and advise waiting to nurse until after your first shower.

The entire process, including setup, consultation, spraying, and breakdown, typically takes about 20-30 minutes.

No! We use high-quality Sjolie solutions with different undertones and customize the color depth based on your natural skin tone and desired result, ensuring a natural-looking bronze, never orange.
